The hero of the town was called KOMEH

Komeh was  great man and fearful hunter, straight from Techiman to Mankessim,he and his people arrived at Eguafo and proceed to Kanka (Dutch Komenda)

Dutch komenda was a small place as it's  today to settle, when Komeh the fearful hunnter arrive, he as the elders of the Land a place settle,there was no place for Komeh and his people to settle and they told him there is a beast in the deep forest that devour our people any day so if Komeh can kill the beast and settled there, that portion of land will been given to him and his people for ever,they mind the beast will kill Komeh

The great and fearful hunnter Komeh enter agreement with the elders of Kanka (Dutch komenda) He went to the deep forest and  killed the beast and show the body of the beast to the elders and they gave him the entire land to Komeh

Till date people of Dutch komenda don't understand why their forefathers did such mistake by give the land (komenda) to Komeh and hi people, Komeh and his people kept fighting beasts for survival until he finally settled,he drew the beast on the skin of an animal as an evidence of the agreement between he the elders of Dutch komenda

The news about great and fearful Komeh spread quick in the surrounding villages and towns just like the Israelities,every village and town was afraid of Komeh and his people and if someone send to errand to Komeh krom he will told( Ko Menda) this simple means when you go don't sleep because of the fearful hunter Komeh and his people,so this became their slogan k)"men"da"

There the name Komeh krom change to komenda which simple means,when you go to Komeh krom don't sleep
